February Mission Inspiration Art Journal Page

Hello my crafty friends. I hope you're having a great day. I'm back with another art journal page using the Mission Inspiration Facebook group monthly prompt. I am using the February prompt, but that's ok. Life is sometimes not the organized plan I want it to be.

Here is the prompt card for the month of February.

First I created the background with my Geli plate using the color purple and hexagons from the prompt card.

I made some mark making tools aka stamps with some craft foam, dies and chip board scraps.

After layering on purple and white paint, I added marks with my hexagons, pulled the print a couple of times until I got the look I was happy with.

After the print was dry, I chose the end I wanted to use and added it to the front of a piece of mixed media paper that is about 5 1/2 by 8 inches.

I added some archival ink to the edges with a sponge and then sprayed the left over ink with alcohol and did a little ink smooshing. After that I added some more hexagons with the stamps I made with black paint.

Next, I found a small heart punch and punched some of the receipt paper to add to the page. I added the hearts with matte medium, dried it with my heat tool and then added color with my Pitt pens. I also outlined the hearts with a black pen.

The next ingredient I used is playing cards. I have a printable card set and used the 2 and Ace of hearts. I ink blended the edges and added them to the middle of the page.

I then added a flower bouquet die cut from an ephemera pack from Hobby  Lobby. I covered the flowers with matte medium to stop the shiny.

To add to the Valentine's Day vibe, I used a sticker pack with some sentiment strips and added a couple to the page.

Here is a photo of the final page:
