Hello my true crime fans. I'm back today with another true crime story.
Our journey today takes us to the state of Washington and the story of a murder on the islands. But before the crime, let's talk about the coloring.
I am using two stamp sets from my stash, that I don't think are available still.
I am making a birthday card for one of our dearest friends daughter. And I'm making a one layer scene card that doesn't have any masking required.
First I stamped the city scene from the Avery Elle Super stamp.
Then I added the flying girl from the Mama Elephant stamp set and the light beam from the Avery Elle. And after that I added the sentiment to the light beam.
I will be coloring the girl with darker skin and changing her hair to look curly. It's sad to me that there aren't more stamps of curly hair people.
Before I started coloring, I added some clouds to the background with an MFT stencil and some light blue ink from Simon Says Stamp.
Here is my copic color combinations.
After I colored all the images, I found a pattern paper that had the same colors and crated a background layer. Then I trimmed it down with the Waffle Flower A2 layer dies. I used the 2nd largest die. And the 4th largest die for the scene panel.
I added the pattern paper to the red card base with double sided adhesive. And then the scene panel the same way.
Here is the finished card.
Now to the crime. In the late 1880's, on San Juan Island, there was a carpenter turned farmer who went missing, and ended up being found dead. Then months later, another couple were also found dead.
The investigation lead clear into Victoria, British Columbia. Eventually, a suspect was arrested and returned to Washington for trial.
It was a shocking turn of events for residents of the island.
you can watch the video and here the story here.
Have a great day.
