Love Card with Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers Dies

Hello my crafty friends. I hope you're having a great day today. I'm  back with another card created using products and techniques chosen from my spread sheet and a random number generator.

The stamp brand is Honey Bee Stamps, the product is layering dies, which Honey Bee has perfected in my opinion, the technique is fun fold card, the color pallet is pattern paper, the theme is love/ anniversary, and the extra is wax melts. Right away I had a plan to use the wax melts as a way to bundle a bouquet together, but that's not exactly how it worked out.

I started by selecting the Lovely Layers Mini Holiday Florals dies. I've wanted to use these for a while so yay.

I chose the Gingerbread Village pattern paper pad as my color pallet.

I used this piece of paper on the card.

I grabbed some scrap pieces of colored cardstock from my scrap stash and I die cut all the layers.

To keep track of everything I added them to my little bowls. I cut multiple layers of the greenery so that I had enough to fill in the gaps.

After all the die cutting came the assembly. I intended to add some ink blending to the embossed lines of the die cuts with a grey ink. It kind of worked, but some of the colors I chose were too dark for the grey ink, so it didn't have the intended effect. A grey copic marker would have been a better choice, I think.

The assembly took a minute, but eventually I had all the flowers and greenery put together and then I had to figure out the layout.

I put the florals aside and created the card base. I used a light tan card stock as the card base. I cut the paper to make a side fold portrait style card. I scored the 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch piece of paper in half at 4 1/4 inches. Then I scored the front flap in half as well creating a Z fold.

I trimmed down the pattern paper I used for the color pallet to create an insert for the back flap and a layer for the front flap. But I needed someplace to add the florals. I chose to trim down another piece of the same color cardstock as the card base. It ended up being 3 x 4 1/4 inches. I thought it needed a little more, so I ran it through my Empress Machine with the Burlap embossing folder.

While I was assembling the card base, I lit the candle for my wax met spoon and added the wax pieces to the spoon to melt. It takes a little while when the spoon is cool, especially.

I spent some time figuring out how to put the bouquet together. Because of the fold on the front of the card, the card base didn't lay flat, so I clamped the card closed with my reverse tweezers.

It took many tries to get the florals how I liked them, but eventually I did like it, so then I grabbed a piece of press and seal and laid it over the whole card. I burnished the extra down to my work surface.

Then carefully, I lifted the press and seal, and turning it over, I added glue to the back of all the florals. Then I placed the press and seal back over the card front. There were a few flowers I needed to add more glue to and then I needed to figure out how to add the wax melt.

The wax pieces and stamper were given to me as gifts. The wax mold or stamp or what ever it's called says love. I chose that one specifically because of the theme. Also, the sentiment pieces are from a Concord&9th Every Day Mix and Match Sentiments.

I ended up adding the sentiment to the bottom left of the floral bunch and the golden wax coin to the middle of the left. It looks kind of like one of those decor pieces that sometimes come in holiday flower bouquets.

Here is the final card.
