Hello my true crime fans. Our journey today take us to Rhode Island and the suspicious death of Benjamin Burton.
First, lets talk about the coloring. Today I am using the Altenew Blooms of Friendship stamp and die set. This is one that has been in my stash for a little while and one I have many plans for. I think it can be used for just about any occasion.
You can buy it here :https://tinyurl.com/evkxru96
I colored all the images with copic markers. Here are the color combinations I used. They are the Copic color match for Altenew's alcohol markers.
For all the white flowers: W 00 W0W1W2
For all the yellow flowers: YR27 Y38 Y15YY11
For the pink flowers: RV69 RV66 RV63 RV55
For the green leaves: YG67 YG25 YG03 YG 01
For the other leaves: BG78 BG75 BG72 BG70
For the purple flowers: BV08 BV04 BV02 BD01
For the branches: E29 E27 E25 E23
I purchased most of my copic markers at MarkerPop.com
Here are the finished cards. I planned two and ended up with three. My original plan was to layer the branches with the leaves, but I think that will be better as a stamped image instead of a die cut card. I guess it's a good thing I stamped all the images.
Now the crime. Benjamin Burton was a well known business man in Rhode Island. He was probably the first African American entrepreneur in the state. He was a good businessman, a well liked neighbor, and a loving family man. And his death turned his family and their neighborhood upside down.
